Not Lost

Hi everyone I just wanted to pop over here and say I am not lost! Busy here as always.

I just wanted to tell you a little about what I have been doing over here while I have been silent.

I am currently still working on the "cross quilt" for my friend it is still however not finished.

But in the meantime I took this out from under the needle and did another baby quilt for a new granddaughter of a friend.

This was just a little bit of fabric I had on my shelf. I need to use up some fabric I have that is just sitting around.

Giving....

Hi Quilting friends!

I wanted to drop by and update you on a few things.

The last time I came over and blogged I was telling you about Summer's giveaway on her blog The Easy Quilter

Well it seems that I gifted Summer with some HST and she wanted to pass the rest on like I did to her. So I told you all about it so you could enter. Well she has sense won a few more giveaways and guess what?!!!! I won some giveaways too!

I entered a podcast anniversary over at The Off Kilter Quilt and I won a $25 gift card to the The Fat Quarter Shop

I have never ordered from them before this was a prefect time to try them out.

And this is what I got! Charm packs and some of them are from Cotton + Steel!
Cotton + Steel .......Eeekkkk
So thank you to Francis for the giveaway and you guy's can visit her at The Off Kilter Quilt

Well then the lovely Donna who blogs over at Donnas Lavender Nest was having a giveaway for some of Aurifil's new thread that matches the new Flower Patch line of fabric by Lori Holt well I entered it, and I won!

When you get a package from Donna it is always packaged beautifully. Donna has her very own web site HERE where she sells beautiful fabric and notions. She also has her very own long arm service and she does wonderful work.

Imagine my surprise when I opened the package and found these:

That's right Donna included 2 fat quarters with the thread! I was so surprised! She wrote me a little note and told me she just had to send them along. I'm glad she did they are beautiful.

Donna also has an Etsy shop Here if you prefer to shop there.

I am going to host a giveaway of my own soon. I know that I keep saying that but, things get in the way some times.

In other news I have been working on the cross quilt so I will leave you a few pictures to see a little progress.

Sorry for the cruddy pictures. I took them with my cell phone and was in a hurry and as you know when you move a cell phone at all while making pictures this is what you get. I hope you can see a little of what I have been up too. I hope to blog again soon and tell you I have the cross quilt finished. (it is a Christmas gift after all)

Quilting or Not.....and a Giveaway

Hi Friends...
I just wanted to come over here and check in with you all. I have not been quilting a bunch sense we came back from vacation. I run into my sewing room every day or so and chain stitch a few four patches but that is all I have been able to do.

I still have not gotten around to the quilting of the cross quilt. You can read about that Here

Now I know you are wondering about the title of this post well...the Giveaway part that is. I'm not having a giveaway right now (although I thought about it a few weeks ago) but someone else is and I thought I would mention it here.

Do you remember this quilt?

Most of you who read my blog will remember this quilt. You got to see it A LOT while I was putting it together.
If you didn't get to see it or you are a new reader you can find it most any post from March of this year all the way up until June I believe. But the main post I wanted to call your attention to was This One it is where a did a giveaway for my left over HST's.

Well one of the Winner's

Summer who blogs at: www.lalaluu.blogspot.com

Has made a beautiful Wall Hanging with the HST's she won here on my blog.

So she emailed me and asked if I would tell you that she would like to pay it forward! That's right she is now having a giveaway on her Blog to give away her left over HST's

So if you would like to win some HST's for a wonderful project of your very own go on over to Summer's blog The Easy Quilter and enter to win!!

I hope you have a great rest of your Saturday and maybe I will have some more great and quilty news for you soon.

Quilt Show, Car Show and God's Creation

Hi Friends!
I'm back from the AQS show in Chattanooga, TN. well to be honest I've been back for a week. As always when you have been away you have to catch up on a lot of things. So I'll kinda take you through our vacation as we went.

First off here was my seat for the round trip of 1070 miles.

This seat is also known as my prayer chair. From the time I set my for on the pegs until I step off I am praying.

I hardly ever put pics of myself on here just have no reason to. So here I am in my Patchwork Threads tee shirt. I thought more people would be wearing theirs but I was the only one.

This quilt really reminds me of Sandy's dog. So I had to get a picture.

This is a quilt that I really liked. Called "A Feather Runs Through It"

Maybe you can see it in this picture.

This quilt I knew my mom would love so I had to take a picture of it.

Hubby walks by this and says oh I like that you could make one for our bed. Ha! (we have a king size bed) I said yeah right that is a wedding ring quilt hahahaha.

My bodyguard for the show. (he blends right in right?) hahaha love him!

But as we were going to the quilt show on Saturday morning we kept seeing old cars and trucks. So when we got 2 blocks from the quilt show we looked down a street that was blocked off and lo and behold they were having a car show, A Car Show! Right up my hubby's ally.

Now he is in his element. Look at that smile.

Let's tell everybody on Facebook.

We got a chance to see something we have never seen while we were out riding around.

Hand-glider's

Zoomed in.

The next day we got a chance to ride the Tail of the Dragon. (very winding road) Photo credit to http://www.killboy.com/

From there we took the Cherohala Skyway but it was raining, foggy and at some places windy. (scary) This is how far up it goes and considering we live at almost sea level this is high to us.

The next day we went to Cloudland Canyon it is a state park in GA. It was beautiful.

The only draw back was these. This was a small set. There were many of them. The going down was not bad it was the going back up that kills you.

The next day we went to Amicalola Falls

It was just beautiful.

But when you got to the top and went in the Lodge.

This was hubby's view. You are above all the trees.

And this was my view! God is the BEST designer EVER!!

On our way in we saw fields and fields of sunflowers. It was 5 dollars to have your pic made or you could buy a sunflower for a dollar a stem. You know I love sunflowers but I told hubby on the way back out of the park just slow down on the road I mean we are traveling on a motorcycle. No dirty windshield to snap a pic through.

Now on the quilting front. Ummmm nothing has really gone on sense I finished the "Cross Quilt" you can see that story HERE
I did order the fabric for the binding but.....when I got it it looks like this.

Not sure what happened here but we are missing some of the flower centers on the left side. This is a Lawn material and very expensive so I have emailed the store that I bought it from so I am hoping they can help me. I need every inch of this yard to make binding with.

Well I hope you all are having a great start to your Fall season. The reason I can sit and type out such a long post is because I started getting sick yesterday and last night was not great lets just say. I am doing better than hubby is though.

Hugs and best stitches to you,
