Verse for Sunday

If you follow me on instagram you know that Friday night at our house is date night. When out on a date we usually try to catch a sunset. Here is our sunset for Friday.

Ephesians 5:33 NLT

So again I say, each man must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.

Have a great week!

Quilt Show, Car Show and God's Creation

Hi Friends!
I'm back from the AQS show in Chattanooga, TN. well to be honest I've been back for a week. As always when you have been away you have to catch up on a lot of things. So I'll kinda take you through our vacation as we went.

First off here was my seat for the round trip of 1070 miles.

This seat is also known as my prayer chair. From the time I set my for on the pegs until I step off I am praying.

I hardly ever put pics of myself on here just have no reason to. So here I am in my Patchwork Threads tee shirt. I thought more people would be wearing theirs but I was the only one.

This quilt really reminds me of Sandy's dog. So I had to get a picture.

This is a quilt that I really liked. Called "A Feather Runs Through It"

Maybe you can see it in this picture.

This quilt I knew my mom would love so I had to take a picture of it.

Hubby walks by this and says oh I like that you could make one for our bed. Ha! (we have a king size bed) I said yeah right that is a wedding ring quilt hahahaha.

My bodyguard for the show. (he blends right in right?) hahaha love him!

But as we were going to the quilt show on Saturday morning we kept seeing old cars and trucks. So when we got 2 blocks from the quilt show we looked down a street that was blocked off and lo and behold they were having a car show, A Car Show! Right up my hubby's ally.

Now he is in his element. Look at that smile.

Let's tell everybody on Facebook.

We got a chance to see something we have never seen while we were out riding around.

Hand-glider's

Zoomed in.

The next day we got a chance to ride the Tail of the Dragon. (very winding road) Photo credit to http://www.killboy.com/

From there we took the Cherohala Skyway but it was raining, foggy and at some places windy. (scary) This is how far up it goes and considering we live at almost sea level this is high to us.

The next day we went to Cloudland Canyon it is a state park in GA. It was beautiful.

The only draw back was these. This was a small set. There were many of them. The going down was not bad it was the going back up that kills you.

The next day we went to Amicalola Falls

It was just beautiful.

But when you got to the top and went in the Lodge.

This was hubby's view. You are above all the trees.

And this was my view! God is the BEST designer EVER!!

On our way in we saw fields and fields of sunflowers. It was 5 dollars to have your pic made or you could buy a sunflower for a dollar a stem. You know I love sunflowers but I told hubby on the way back out of the park just slow down on the road I mean we are traveling on a motorcycle. No dirty windshield to snap a pic through.

Now on the quilting front. Ummmm nothing has really gone on sense I finished the "Cross Quilt" you can see that story HERE
I did order the fabric for the binding but.....when I got it it looks like this.

Not sure what happened here but we are missing some of the flower centers on the left side. This is a Lawn material and very expensive so I have emailed the store that I bought it from so I am hoping they can help me. I need every inch of this yard to make binding with.

Well I hope you all are having a great start to your Fall season. The reason I can sit and type out such a long post is because I started getting sick yesterday and last night was not great lets just say. I am doing better than hubby is though.

Hugs and best stitches to you,

Verse for Sunday

Ephesians 1:5 NLT

God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure.

Have a great week.

Almost time to go...

Hi Friends!

I worked this afternoon to get a quilt top finished so I could run over here and share it with you before I head out to the AQS show in Chattanooga, TN on Friday.
Tomorrow will be filled with packing and picking hubby up from the airport and then off we go on Friday morning on our first real long road trip on the motorcycle.

Oh sure we have ridden the bike pretty far on some days. But....never on a real for sure road trip and ya see here's the thing I don't like the interstate on the motorcycle!!!!
It says by car it is 5 hours and 57 mins. So you can pretty much add at the bare minimum another 2 hours at least to that. So AQS for Fri. maybe a wash. Oh well we are staying 2 blocks from where they are having the show so I will be happy with Saturday!

Now that I have board you to death. (sorry just a little excited) I will get to the quilt. I shared with you all a WIP on here a few months ago of a lot of projects I was working on. That post is HERE

Well I shared a picture of some charm packs I was working with by Robert Kaufman.

This is London Calling. Not sure how they came up with that name as all the fabrics are florals. These are also Lawn fabrics instead of cotton.

Here is another picture of the project from the other post.

This was just like a teaser picture on the other post. What I didn't know at the time is I would end up taking all of this apart and putting it back together the right way.

Here is the finished top. (only)

Sorry about these pictures the sun had not made much of an appearance all day. My grass is also not mowed so it makes the quilt look bumpy. I don't have floor space in my house to lay it out.

The wind decided to blow right as I was laying this down as well.

This would have been the perfect photo but the quilt was too low.

But by the time I moved it the sun was behind the clouds again.

Realized the top of the quilt needed to be folded back up so you could see through in case the sun did come out.

And as I unclipped it from the fence it started to rain. Huh...living in Florida.

I made this quilt for a lady that has mentored me over the past few months. She has been a cheerleader for me as I "try" to be of some help to my husband as he gets this Ministry up and running again.

I'm still working on how I want to quilt it. I'm thinking FM but I haven't practiced my free motion in a looooong time! I have some time but I did want to give this to her as a Christmas gift.

This is not my pattern I "pinned" it on my Pinterest board HERE make sure that you click over to the web page from the pin. I printed her whole blog post so that I would have all the references that I needed.

If anyone is going to the AQS in Chattanooga let me know even though I'm going to only be there a short time I would love to see you and say Hi! I love to meet my blog followers! :)

If your not going to AQS and you want to see some of the stuff I'm seeing you can follow me on Twitter or Instagram those links are on the right side bar.

Verse for Sunday

Three things will last forever - Faith, Hope, and Love - but the greatest of these is Love. 1 Corinthians 13:13 NLT
